SEO is all about backlink building. Despite all Google updates, backlinks are still one of the most important elements by which Google assesses the relevance of a website. Unfortunately, everyone who is familiar with SEO knows that building high-quality backlinks is a lot of work.
In this series of blog posts, we present three techniques that are used effectively by SEO professionals from around the world. For each of these techniques, SEO expert Brian Dean (www.backlinko.com) presented us with ingenious tricks at a SwissMadeMarketing webinar, which also significantly simplifies the search for good backlink sources. In the event that you already know the techniques: it is still worth reading, because with our new tool "Backlink Spy" completely new ways and tricks will open up how you can implement these techniques even more efficiently in the future.
Technique 1: Write guest contributions
An efficient technique for building high-quality backlinks is to publish guest posts on successful websites within our niche. So, for example, if you want to promote a niche website about 3D printers, search for blogs and websites that also report about 3D printers and try to place an article that is useful and useful for visitors - which of course links to your niche- Website contains. That may hardly sound possible. In fact, many blog operators are happy to publish guest posts.
How do you find the blogs and websites where you have the best chance of being able to publish a guest post? Brian Dean showed us his personal tricks. We will now show you step by step how to do it.
Professional trick: finding the best sources for guest posts
Step 1:
Not all blogs publish guest posts. So that we can save time and find blogs where the chances are better, we enter one of the following search commands on Google:
"Your keyword" + "guest article" or " your keyword" + "guest post"or " your keyword" + "guest author"
Or for English-speaking niches:
"Your keyword" + "guest post by" or " your keyword" + "guest author"

Step 2:
Now we visit one of these websites and see who this guest author is. There will certainly be a link to the website of this guest author (or to the website he wants to promote with his guest contributions) somewhere in the introduction, within or at the end of the article. We now copy the URL of this website, open the SwissMadeMarketing tool “Backlink Spy” and start a backlink search for exactly this URL.
What do we learn from this? Backlink Spy will now find every link on the Internet that points to this author's niche website. We therefore receive a complete list of all websites and blogs that had this author publish a guest article on the niche topic. So here is the greatest potential for us to also publish an article for the same niche.
Step 3:
Write to the operators of these websites with the request that you also publish your article. Include the article, of course with the link to the website you want to promote.
